I used to backup my games with CDRWin ( Don't know version )
My machine died a death and had to be rebuilt. Did not have copy of CDRWin so had to get a fresh copy. This has been loaded and it recognised my CD Write OK. I did a couple of backups and the games seem to lock out my PSX. The games I tried are not protected in any way and I backed up the same as I have always done but I still cannot get it to work. I tried one of my old backups in the PSX and all was OK.
Help please

much better

it will make an exact copy of the CD byte for byte

Very easy too.

For psx always use

Read subchannel data from data tracks
Read subchannel data from audio tracks

and when writing

Always close last session
Don't repair subchannel data

Some psx need FES to find out scan each disc you want to copy with Clony XL and it will give you the Clone CD settings.:)

I'd say if you liked cdrwin, why change?
try installing latest aspi drivers www.adaptec.com
clone is good as well, but i used cdrwin for patching.

Cheers for everyones help in this.
Is there a FAQ / Tutorial about Clone CD as I would like to know how to apply a patch to an image?

That's why i liked CDRWin so much: besides DJ (i think so at least) only cdrwin creates bin/cue files that can be patched w/ general patches (like those from paradox, trainers and game fixes).
no patching in iso's m8, sorry you'll have to use cdrwin

You can patch IMG files easily enough, I always use Clone and always have.

I'm assuming you're on about ppf patches? Simply select 'all files' in PPF-O-MATIC when searching for the bin/img/game file. Then patch it as you would a CDRWIN image. If you get a first warning carry on, but not after second warning. (Most you will have to do if it messes up is read disc again)

This has only happened to me once though out of over 100 psx games patched. The reason it gives the first warning is because you're not patching a BIN file, the second usually means you have got the wrong patch. This is my experience anyway.

HTH :)

Sorry for not getting back to you all but I've been ill.
Cheers Max_Normal. I'll give it a try. It is to do with PPF patching.
Thanks again for everyones help
