I use princo and datasafe and they are both pretty good for 99p per DVD.
Obviously you can get better but you pay for it.
90% of players play both these but strangly the datasafe seem more Ps2 compatible for movies only.

check my site www.dvdking.host.sk for media compatibility and judge for yourself.

depends what you're doing with them, if you sell them to people who will only watch them then bulkpaq will do, but if they are for my copy I will use a gen 2 fws as they are much easier to read, no bad sectors like the bulkpaq.

Thanks. It's just for ripped and captured (from Sky with AIW card) movies for my own use instead of using my VCR (and it's hooj tapes!).

My DVD player is a Toshiba SD210E multi-region....

Any thoughts about the Meritline discs vs. Princo and DataSafe?

I heard Princo sucks from people that ordered the bulk. Lots of them failed out of the bunch. I have never tried them personally.

However, I just ordered 100 PrimeDisc bulk pack with DVD cases for about $160 USD. Gonna give that a shot.

The player that you are using to watch the DVDs on are a factor as well.

I use my Xbox, the Xbox will read cheap *** media and DVD-RW etc. So it's very ideal for me.

So I went with the PrimeDisc bulk pack

PS celica4hung - Send me an e-mail through the site. I have some HK DVD titles that you maybe interested in. I am looking for a bunch as well. Let me know.

m8,

I have tried the Whte Label DVD-R aswell only done one PS2 game so far but it seems to be fine.

One thing i did notice between the white Label and say FWS is the quality of the dye, the White Label at a cheaper price looks a lot better then the FWS that seem to have dye runs and marks on the DVD-R out of the box.

I can backup spook on the white label media just ordered 'another' load of these disks they are fantastic work on everything I have tried so far including a DVD player that wouldn't play anything including verbs the only 2 failures I have had were due to my 'experiments' for alternative ripping and authoring but at 99p a disk I can afford to experiment!!! :D

Yes im gonna 'big up' the new whitelabel dvdr blanks they are excellent! so cheap and i ordered them without knowing wat they wud be like so it was a large risk! but they are ace and hav worked flawlessly on all 3 of the dvd players in my house including my ps2. This was just for movies though,if anymore have done ps2 dvdrs on them then please let me know how they are with them also. From wat i can gather though they are the best of the cheap ones!

Sounds like there are some cheap alternatives out there that will work. Could you all share with me where you buy them from? I am not sure where to buy "generic white label?"

use email "celica4hung@blackngold.net"

Thanks,
Cel

I've just tried a Princo for a movie.....loads of artifacts....pretty crap.

I've got a White Label one, a Datasafe gold & blue, and a couple of unbranded, so I'll see what they're like....

Anymore opinions guys?

Do you generally need better quality dvd-r's for movies than for PS2/XBox backups as it needs to keep the constant stream?
