mobile_p Jun 21, 2002, 10:21 AM Just wondering does anyone use a Portable MP3/VCD/CD Player if so which one would you recommend? I'm looking for something cheap and was wondering where to go?
I found this:
http://myahead.com/go/look/product.show_product?v_id=2286
it's one I like but it's dear enough!
anyone know where to get a cheaper one?

Van Nugent Jun 21, 2002, 11:41 AM The specs looks pretty good but I'm wondering what bitrates does it support? If it also supports VBR then it's a wonderful player. Can you give them a call and check on that? Also, need to check the Signal-to-Noise Ratio of the unit as well. The number must be 90dB or above to give you good music without background noise.
mobile_p Jun 21, 2002, 12:25 PM Yes I thought so myself! I was looking around ebay and there seens to be alot of them! Do you know if this one has dvd cababilities? I think it is 90db or above but I'll check! Can you recommend a good player? I heard the Nava one is usless! but it looks ok!
Cheers
Van Nugent Jun 21, 2002, 12:38 PM Well, that one will NOT play DVD's. Portable players that can also play DVD's are not cheap. Without screen, they'll cost at least $200.00 US.
mobile_p Jun 21, 2002, 12:53 PM Do you have anything like one of these? I have bid on a mp3/cd/vcd player on ebay and it has no reserve! This guy has loads of them!
I bid sumtin like £25 so I might win!
Do vcd's actually sell in the shops? I can get them on here for about £1-5 depending on quality!
I saw some of the dvd players I saw one for $180.00 but it probaly isn't great quality!

simon1968 Jun 24, 2002, 11:09 AM If you want a good reliable MP3/WMA CD player, then your best bet is the Rio Volt.
Excellent machine - get it from Argos for £99
Good display showing full ID3 tag.
