I was struggeling with winmx ever since updating to 3.1 and I hated it!
Just updated to the new 3.2 and it works better than ever! Just d-l'd a whole albulm of individual songs from the same user simultaniously and hit 150,000 Bps!! (he WAS on a t1, but still...)
If you had a similar experiance with winmx, and would like to try it again... I recommend this update!

I'm using XP and it doesn't freeze my pc but it's to slow. I find Kazaa to be fast downloading. Just my 2 cents.

Haha I am back in the stone ages on winmx i guess -- still using version 2.6 and it works fine with XP. As for the speed, I consistently get like 150 kb/s which is close to the max speed of my internet connection, so I can't really complain about that i guess!

I got a question, I don't use winmx, I usually use kazaa(aka crap) and mirc(aka good luck finding stuff). Anyways, when you d/l big files on winmx, does it happens that they are the wrong files? For example, when there a new release of a film or a game, usually on kazaa they rename a old file with the new game/movie file and I hate that!!!!! I got a stupid bandwich limit and each time I d/l a crappy file I get into trouble. So does ti happen often or is it the same as kazaa. Thanks.

I could never get connected with 3.1 so might give 3.2 a go if you lot recommend it.

Using WinMX 3.2 on win98SE and it runs smooth...I'm only on a dialup, but at times during multi-source d/l's I've hit and sustained 8-9k for periods. Then again, I've never had a problem with any version and I've been using it for a long time.
BTW, my cousin who's also on dialup, couldn't get 3.1 to work, but 3.2 did, so give it a go if you've had trouble in the past.
