im thinking of buying a new CD Re-Writer , are LiteOn ones good?

I have a liteon and it is great , never had any prob and you can get them for really good prices.

As M_rsa says, these are a great writer for the price, never had a problem burning & they seem completely reliable. Highly recommended. :tup:

Yep I luv the Liteons, never had a problem they are cheap and fast and work with all software

Iv'e had a ricoh and a liteon for about 2 years. I get problems with the Ricoh but have never had any with the Liteon

I have had one for a while now no problems at all
have also got a Plextor the Liteon is great value for money

I build machines all the time as a side business, and I always use LiteOn for the CD-Rom/DVD and CD-R. Never had any problems...nope, not one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great player/burner for the money.

i got a 40x liteon and it totally rocks, had no porbs at all. try looking at the svp site for a good price.

Another vote for the Liteon here. Put 1 in my sons PC last week and was very impressed.

I got a 16x in November 2001 and just got my RMA number yesterday.
i.e. it crashed and burned, or is that burned and crashed?

anyone overclocked theirs yet? I overclocked mine to the LITEON 48125W @ 48x12x48 using the VS02 firmware and mtkflash. If anyone wants info on how to do this feel free to email me or visit www.cdfreaks.com

get a 40x and overclock it to 48x - works perfectly! :)

Just a word of caution, they do not handle karaoke CD+G.

according to Nero Info Tool it does support CD-G, this my desktop screenshot out:
