Just got broadband today from Pipex, well impressed, nice and fast, stable, 50mb webspace, newgroups (which increasingly some ISPs are stopping), 12 emails, no ftp or peer to peer restrictions which again some are putting in place. No activation fee and a cheap monthly too. I know there are complaints about customer service, its true its not great but in all honesty it is no worse than any dial up Isp I used before. Wherever you go mate, be ready to double your hard disk for all them bootiful downloads!

NTL is only £15 p/m if you have a phone line with them not the fastest but adequate

if you live in a cable area then get blueyonder from telewest its £25 a mounth for the 512kb and £35 for the 1meg service about £25 for the setup (which they do) a good service and one if not the cheapest 1meg service in the uk

i think they still give you 3 mounths trial for half price

and if you dont want to pay to have it installed phone them and make a fuss :)

I have heard that Sattelite connection is super fast downloading speeds ......not a clue about it , have any of you ?

I think the £15 ntl service is the 128kb one mate.

Anyone any idea's for me?

I in area that has cable laid but local exchange not talking to cable company. So only way to go is Pipex or BT openworld. Rumour has it that if I go with Pipex, BT will tell me I can not have it although I live close to main exchange for area!!!
I can have BT, they sending me disc's daily and e-mailing me every hour with more offers to join.
I want broadband but not BT's what can I do..
