Hi M8 make sure you have got Dma enabeled Right click on my computer icon then select properties and divice manager tab hilight your cd rom drives and select properties again then in the settings tab make sure the box marked DMA has a tick in it if this does not work defrag drive and try burrning at a lower speed

Buffer underruns occur because data is not available to the laser. If you use Nero try adjusting the buffer found under File->Preferences from the Auto setting to Manual and then up the buffer to about 25% of your physical RAM. As mentioned you should also defrag regularly and ensure DMA is set for your Drives. If you have less than 128MB of RAM you should consider upgrading to that or 256MB if possible.
