Is it possible to use XP chips with the PC Chips (ECS) 810 LMR board?
The manual indicates it should be and the board has a big XP sticker on it...
however the jumper on the board that I'd need to change is not a jumper but rather an electrical weld...
Any ideas?

The manual is out of date, the original 810LMR didnt have XP in mind, and I dun think the manual were updated to reflect the inclusion of the AMD-XP processors.

The manual makes specific reference to Athlon XP CPUS and even shows the pins to change... but they are solderd on the board not jumpers.
plus there is a big XP sticker on the Socket for the CPU...
There is a bios update available on the web...
I'll probably try that but wondered if anyone had any experience with it.

AHA!!!
My eyes have seen the glory....
Turned out I had a stick of duff ram that was preventing the board/chip from posting.
Release 7.1 of the PC Chips 810LMR does indeed support 1800XP chips...
Just be sure to fit a sitck of 133 Ram that works....
