Sup?

My friend has 98 installed and wants 2 update 2 ME but does not wanna format. I gave him my ME disk but its a full install. It wont let us update, it keeps tellin us to uninstall windows or buy a upgrade disk. Can i update his system w/o formatting? If i need 2 uninstall windows how would i do that? If i did uninstall windows would it mess all the files up?

Thx in advance!

Kyle the rules of this forum state that we can not give advice on pirated software. Technically you can not install your version of Windows Me on your friends system as this constitutes pirating. Whether you accept this or not it is the way it is. You can read the License Agreement for any Windows operating system and will see this to be true. You will need to sell your copy of Windows Me to your friend after removing all traces of it from your system before we can respond to your question.

As much as it pains me I'm going to have to agree with Harry's thoughts on this. :(

All I will say though Kyle is a clean install is always the way to go when you have sold your copy of Me to your friend. :) I never, ever bother with upgrades if I can avoid them. They cause far too much pain in the long run.

Not to mention in the end Win98 is a better OS then WinME is anyways!
If he's going to bother going thru an upgrade, better to go with XP or Win2k Pro IMHO

And Hello Harry m8... long time no see!
