OC-Freak Jun 27, 2002, 04:04 AM I just finished my review of the Lite-On LTR-40125S CD-RW drive.
To make it more attractive to read I overclocked the LTR-40125S to a LTR-48125W CD-RW drive.
The review is 12 whole pages long and I used over 100 empty CD-R discs of many different brands for this review.
I've used 3 weeks to finish the review so I hope you like it.
Read it here:

booboy2 Jun 27, 2002, 05:52 AM Once again another fantastic review OC Freak.
I like the way you tested many different media from the cheap to the expensive, and some of these results will suprise.
I am not suprised it took you 3 weeks to review, it just took me over 40 minutes to read and digest it.
Quite superb, and long may you continue to write these reviews.
Trondos Jun 27, 2002, 12:34 PM But, do you really expect me to read all that? :p
:D

digicube Jun 30, 2002, 12:36 PM Is it wise to overclock the LTR-40125S to a LTR-48125W
JAMAL Jun 30, 2002, 03:40 PM Aslong as you read up on it and are confident overclocking your writer then go ahead, but is it worth the extra seconds that 48x writing would offer over 40x??

Lazza Jul 01, 2002, 04:21 AM And it looks like the 52X drives will be out shortly too.
Followed by the 64X drives, then the 120X drives, then the 1,500X drives....
Where will it end I ask?

It will end when drives get so high rotating speeds that the disc shatter, and pieces comes flying through your PC tower and ends up in your leg.....
Really, I think we are approaching the limit now. Remember, 52 X cdroms has been out for quite a while, 56X has come, but not any faster.
Kenwood has their 72X, but it uses several lasers, to get lower RPM on the disc.
I believe, but I may be wrong, that todays cds do not cope with higher RPM.
:)

1500X would be great lol; pop the blank in, wait three seconds and presto :)

GodfatherUK Jul 05, 2002, 09:29 AM the faster you the quality of the copy decreases. we can go as fast we want, but doesnt mean it'll be worth it.
ie. kenwood 72x - only good for reading original discs!
