how do i play divx with xbplayer on cd-rw?
the enclosed instructions is for primo dvd instead.
i tried using easy cd creator instead.
i followed the instructions and copied my divx data
files to the media/video folder and then burn the
entire root directory. but my xbox failed to boot the cd-rw.
i don't know what other programs support udf format.

primo dvd can burn cd-rw. thats how i do it and it works perfectly. i even overburn for larger divx files. just follow the intructions in the readme--they ARE for cd-rw with primo even though the UDF setting in the record disc options says dvd ;)

trying with nero now... will post results
didnt work with nero... had better luck building a iso with the movie file in the media/video directory.it boots, however it says unsupported file type. it is a .dat file... i dunno if it says that because the video file is changed to xdfs when i build the iso or what...

ok, i am starting to think .dat arent supported.. .dat are mpg with a different extension... wonder if the software is simply checking the file extension.
reason i say that is because i durnt it just like the readme says with primo, and it still says unsupported format... i am gonna rename it and see if it plays.
EDIT
seems i was right... xbox media player only checks the file extension...... renamed .dat to mpg and it plays fine ;) they should be able to resolve that fairly easily in future releases though.

so Is CDR reading a hardware limitation, or is there a chance the mod / software can get around this (Just thinking about having to transfer all my VCDs)

its down to the type of laser in your xbox as to what media it can boot, modchips will NOT be able to change this.
