and have the xbox function properly and the modchip not. I hooked up my enigmah and my xbox is running flawlessly but it's not playing any burned cdr's not even audio so i'm suspecting it's either something wrong or bad chip.

Any suggestions? Other than double check cause i've already done that i can't find anything wrong. I may just take it all out and try again.

its absolutly possible. i had the same thing with my messiah !

it booted al originals but not backups , altough it recognised them as ps2 discs meaning the chip itself was 100% OK but my ps2 was a v3 wich is harder to install.

maybe one of the wires seems owk but doesnt make good contact or something .

im no soldering genie but who knows.

try it with a coppied DVD-R before you remove the chip, i dont know anybody that can boot CDR, most machines i have seen boot CDRW well but CDR just dont work at all.

unfortunately i have tried both cdr and cdrw, today i went and traced every lead all were good so i'm guessing that the chip is bad i'm going to check with a dvdr next week but i don't have one right this sec to check. I have removed for now I'll put it back either when i get a response from game gizmo or when i have a dvd r to check it against.
