Why dont you try Hotline (www.bigredh.com to downoad the hotline client& www.hotlinehq.com to search for your stuff)you can download Microsoft office 2001 for nothing simple text comes with mac and theres nothing wrong with that I use it more than word

And there's always Tex-Edit, which I've always used. It's shareware, but you don't have to pay for it or register the program to use it fully. It's not a full featured WP like MS Word, but it's better than nothing, and again, it's "free."
