this has nothing to do with backups, but it is ps2 related. if this isn't the right spot to post then please delete and don't get mad at me.

my friends ps2 is not chipped and has never been opened. in the middle of playing games the character goes crazy. he fires his weapon, the game paused and does anything like if you were pressing the buttons. if he watchs a dvd movie and has the controller plugged in then the movie paused and skips forward and back.

is this a controller port problem? he tried 2 different controllers and it does it with both. if it is a controller port problem then does anyone know where i can buy a new one?

thanks for the help in advance!

Tell him to send it back to Sony. It might be the port connection on the PS2 ( I am pretty sure it is since he already tried another controller). It will cost him but a sure fix will come from Sony.

Are you using pure Sony controllers, if your using generic controllers, try turning off the Auto Fire, or use a Sony Controller. Look at the PS2 boot and call Sony.

Yeah, heh, watch those auto settings.

btw, try unplugging the machine from wall for a full minute & plug back in, thats a minute not ten seconds.

the controllers are sony brand. we tried the controller that came with his ps2 and the one that came with mine. i'll try to unplug it. i'll have him leave it unplugged over night.

Yeah, keep any controllers away too, you never know. I don't know if the ps2 has a universal code or not. But your neighbors using one might sometimes effect yours.

I mean remote controllers.
