I usually burn with a 24x burner (TDKCDRW241040B), today things are taking way too long on my pc and I went to fix my windows settings and they are different from what they were. I moved from Windows 98 to Windows XP. For some very odd reason today my "Buffer level"
on Nero and Easy CD Creator is really low. It usually
burns at 100% and today it's burning below 20% which
means that instead of burning a disc in 3-4 mins it is
taking 8-10 mins. I recently upgraded to Windows XP
and the Windows settings are NOTHING like Windows 98.

Does anybody have any idea why it reverted to an old setting? it was burning fine 2 days ago and now it is taking twice as long.

Is there any way to just fix it without uninstalling it?

If I do have to uninstall it can anyone give me directions on how to do this? I have definitely pc challenged.

go to your hardware manager and check that the IDE controller is on "UDMA if available". If it isnt, uninstall it and restart your computer and it sort out the problem.

Its a common fault it in XP and sometimes happens to me. It seems to automatically go back to PIO mode on its own.
