Is it possible to put a CD Drive as Master in Primary IDE?

It is possible but not recamended. It is best to put it on the Primary Slave and the other one on the Secondary Master.

I like to run a ATA PCI card
with the CDRW on #1 IDE as master
CDROM/DVD on #2 as master
and the HDD's on the ATA card
I think this is the best set up because your drive's will slow down your HDD's to the lower ATA 33/66 ,and with a ATA card you can run 4 HDD's and 4 drives

or if you don't use a ATA PCI card
#1 HDD as master , CDROM/DVD slave
#2 CDRW as master , HDD #2 or other drive as slave

if i have 1 hard drive should i put it on #1 slave or #2 slave? which works better?
also i just got my dvd nurner. its a pioneer 104. where should i put it?
