My PS2 plays DVD films with Region 0 encoding (PAL discs) in black & white, is this right?
Also, I make my own DVDs, I have Sonic DVDit 2.5 PE and there is no way to encode a disc with region 2. does anyone know of any software that's as easy to use as this but allows u to encode your disc to a region?
thanx in advance for any replies

Yes, buy a RGB scart lead from your local games store.

I have plenty of scart leads, how do i attach that to my playstation (i have loads of phono to scart as well) or are there specific PS2 to scart leads?

i think the guy means buying the blaze scart lead that has a switch on it to play games/ dvds
you can get them from Games/EB stores for about 5 - 10 pounds
picked mine up for 5 pounds about 2 months ago

If your PS2 hasn't got RGB fix though it will playback in green. Also region coding has nothing to do with it playing in B/W its to do with being NTSC and not PAL.

I'll second Marah on the above comment. Some TV's just don't handle NTSC signals correctly and therefore you get a black and white picture - mainly older models even if they have a scart socket. Not everyone knows that cos' I have a friend who has brought a couple of discs back thinking there was something wrong with them!

my TV & video both support NTSC, anyway, I made the discs myself and I know they're PAL

PAL should play in colour provided its a PAL PS2 of course.
Scenarist I think can lock the region but I do not think it will make any difference. Its also very complex to learn and also expensive to buy
