regular dvd doesn't support 480x480. You should change the resolution to 720x480, and then it should look better.

DVD patcher will allow you to author a non complient stream.. ie 480x??? this doesn't mean that it will play on all players.

It is kind of like patching an SVCD and then authoring it as a VCD, you can do it, but don't expect it to be as compatible as an actual VCD.

So what is the safest and most reliable way of putting a svcd on to dvdr that will work in most players?

And does it take hours of encoding?!

:)

cheers

The safest and most reliable way of putting a svcd on to dvdr is to rencode it to a DVD complient stream as rishardc already suggested. This will mean that it will play on any DVD player that plays regular DVDR's.

It does however mean hours of re-encoding, with no increase in quality over the SVCD.

what software do u use to rencode the svcd DvD2AVI.i tryed dvdpatcher to change the size of the clip after opening up in spruceup and burned to dvdr and it worked in my dvd player 100% but spruceup wont let me put chapters in it keeps giving errors.
