Ok here is the problem…

I am using win xp home and have successfully ripped a film with smart ripper.

I am now left with my film.m2v file and my film.ac3 file.

When importing the file.m2v into spruce up it will run to 100% of the m2v file but will not pick up the ac3 file. Hence No sound is imported. I also do have the full version of spruce…

Now I understand that both files have to be the same file name and they are.

I have already ripped authored and burnt a DVD in my old dell 600mhz using win 2000 but my new pc (2ghz) using xp is not having any of it with spruce up…

All you suggestions would be grateful appreciated as this is driving me crazy..

Thanks in advance

Are you getting an error message from SpruceUp, or is it just completely ignoring the audio?

You gave to make it so it isn't labeled as an ac3 file. Thats why. I used to ahve the same problem

PsuBiologist: I disagree - I use SpruceUp all the time, and always have my files named as whatever.m2v and whatever.ac3 - you way might work, too, I don't know, but I haven't had problems with SpruceUp seeing the audio files when they have the right file name and a .ac3 extension.

I have had problems with SpruceUp refusing to import the audio because it doesn't recognise the stream, and I have had to run a fixing utility on it (usually when I take some audio out of the middle of a stream).

Cheers,
Rolf.

I sumtimes have this problem with .mp2 files, all i do is use bsweet to convert the mp2 file to a 48000khz Wav file, it imports perfectly then. Dont know about the ac3 problem, as long the sound is clear im not bothered wether or not itz ac3 or not.
