Badidoh Jul 02, 2002, 09:59 PM Is it possible to find the firmware for my RWD XR-RW4424 burner, I just got it, thought it's old, I want to know if it's possible to find it.
Also, I was told, it was a JVC XR-RW4424
My firmware version is 1.11
I read on CloneCd's site, and there was a 1.21
So please, if anyone can give it to me (link, file), I thank you
I've been looking everywhere for it.
Holler Jul 03, 2002, 06:23 PM It should be here:

Badidoh Jul 03, 2002, 07:48 PM That's one place that doesn't have it
Badidoh Jul 05, 2002, 01:17 AM I've asked CloneCD, and they said, they couldn't find it either.
So please, if you have it, or found it, please give me the link/file.
Thank You
dcm386 Jul 05, 2002, 02:12 AM Are you sure thats the correct model number??
I think you may have an extra 'R' in there. I found references to a burner called the JVC XR-W4424 (RWD), but no firmware as of yet.
There also seems to be a bunch of thise, Nero's site lists:
XR-W4424A
XR-W4424/XR-W4424B <--- I am guessing this is yours
XR-W4424S
XR-W4424SB
Sorry I can't be more help. I'll do some more searching tomorrow.
Badidoh Jul 05, 2002, 11:05 AM Mine is the XR-W4424, not B, or S, or SB, I'm 100% sure
But thanks for helping.
celtic_druid Jul 05, 2002, 11:15 AM There definatly is/was a XR-W4424

I had a look but couldn't see the firmware anywhere. It was an OEM drive only, so I guess you would need to find on of the OEM suppliers and ask them for the firmware.
Badidoh Jul 05, 2002, 10:59 PM So how do I do that???
Ask the OEM for the firmware, how???
celtic_druid Jul 06, 2002, 12:20 AM Find an OEM supplier such as Creative or Pacific Digital (I don't think either used your drive though) that sold your drive. Email them and ask. You could also try emailing JVC and see if they are any help.
Although "These models are basically for OEM supply (or bulk),
therefore, please kindly make an inquiry to an OEM supplier
(or a purchasing site)."
