Ok just wondering a computer with win ME installed already then has win 2000 installed will Win 2000 control the dual boot like Linux would? And will I need an NTFS partition or can I use FAT 32?
Thanks

The Boot.ini file will control the dual boot, Windows ME wont be recognise under NTFS file system, therefore Fat32 is the answer.

Thanks for your reply.
Ok so is it possible to run ME on Fat 32 and 2000 on NTFS, Ive never dual booted 2 windows Os before only Linux and Windows so I just want to make sure I wont have any probs, because I cant be bothered backing all my files up. If not does it make much difference win 2000 being on Fat 32?

I didnt say it was possible m8, read this again----->>>"Windows ME wont be recognised under NTFS file system".
If not does it make much difference win 2000 being on Fat 32?
Nope not much difference, is only different file system, that Windows NT and 2000 uses for more enhaced security in general and fault tolerance.

No need for the sarcasm m8, Ive run dual boots of windows and Linux and windows wont be recognized on a linux partition , so I feel it was a plausable question. So I know you can have different partitions on a hd but was asking incase there would be conflicts or anything.
Oh and in future before getting clever get your facts right you can have 2 partitions on a drive which use different file systems.

And I know boot.ini will deal with the boot and that win ME wont be rcognized on NTFS but will I get a choice of what I boot into, for example Linu with linux which controls the boot and gives the option of Booting Linux or DOS /Windows.
As I said Ive not dual booted 2 windows operating systems before only Linux and windows so wondered if 3rd party boot software may be needed?

Wow this is getting a bit of a rant I think Ill shut up now. So anyone let me know.
