I have installed the usb modem that i bought and the drivers, but when i go to control panel, modems, it does not show up in there, just my old 56k one does, is this supposed to happen or is everything still fine??

Anyway when i try to connect, it comes up with an erorr, "Could not connect to remote computer" or something along those lines, but this is the question that i have, when it says connecting, just before the error, it says "pppoe" in brackets after some other words, when pipex say there protocal is pppoa, would this be a problem and if so, how can i change it to pppoa.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.

is your old modem still installed. if so you should deinstall it and remove the drivers. then install your new drivers.

which usb modem is it and which version drivers you using?
