howdy all,
i have a question about a flopy drive. i have one that is reading some floppies but on others it is telling me that they are not formated would you like to format them now. i know theses floppies work and i was wondering if it could be a faulty drive? by the way it is a 3&1/2 inch drive the os is win 2000 pro and everything else is working fine. any help would be greatly appreciated.

How old is it?? sometimes when is on its way, it behave like that.

it is actually brand new about 2 months

Try to read the disks on different PC, if it works, it must be faulty drive, which I am sure you can return it for replacement.

Before you take it back, try using one of those floppy drive cleaners to clean the read\write heads first.

Even if it's only 2 months old that doesn't mean the heads can't get dirty.
