the ps2 dongle isnt working it says hardware not detected :(

When that happens to me sometimes i just take it out and insert it again.Works every time.Maybe it also needs resetting,who knows.Write gameshark support an e-mail,maybe they'll send you a new one.

Theres a way to reset it. Tey pressing circle when it says hardware not dectected.

If you don't know how to reset it,do this.

"Insert your AR2/GS2 CD1
Power off the PS2 for 5 seconds
Hold all the top buttons (R1 + R2 + L1 + L2) and press start
Turn on the machine (Keep buttons held)
You will get a message to reset to factory defaults
Press X
Restart the machine
The AR2/GS2 has now been reset"

i just got mine today and had the same problem just wiggle it about a bit

tried everything still no luck

im just wondering is there anyway to use a downloaded version of gs w/out the dongle, to put codes and stuff in not to boot other games.
like has anyone cracked it or anything so u dont need to have a dongle????
cause i got a gs for psx that is burnt and doesnt need a dongle or anything..

It depends on what version gameshark it is.The new version GS can boot games without a dongle,but for the codes you ALWAYS need the dongle,because that's where they're located.

hey try this (if your GS is new)
at the screen where it says Hardware not detected press Start,
then just try and type in cheats it might find the dongle then...

ya could buy another dongle, i saw my local funcoland selling them used in these lil pouches. I dont think its that expensive, its proly just defective.

I had the same problems, wiggled it, tried to reset it. I gave it two days with the PS2 unplugged and dongle out. I plugged it back up, jammed the dongle in, I was ticked after 2 days, and it worked!!!

this has been about a week

I suggest you goto the Interact website get their phone number and make a formal complaint, or simply return the GameShark from where you bought it and say it didn't work and they should replace it man:)
