The driver will not install i have a windows 98 and a imation dxr2 dvd rom and it wont work the drivers say they are only for windows XP i tried downloading them off the net and still nothing im confused...

is the dxr2 dvd drive not a creative labs drive?

if you are using win98 you should not need a driver

Plug it in, autodetect in bios, save settings and reboot. Should be there.

I've got a Writer, DVD player and CD-rom drives, none have ever had drivers installed. Used Win 98, ME and XP with them all.

as most of the others have said you dont need a driver in win98, but you do need a dvd media player of some sort, you should have got one when you purchased the dvd player? unless you got a OEM version.

I my self us WinDVD & PowerDVD.
