View Full Version : my 80bg hdd is reading at 2 gb

my computer says my ibm 80gb hard drive is a 2gb hard drive-
the drive i had before was a 10gg hdd but still was read at 2gb
my computer is a gateway 2k 350 pentium 2-What can i do to make it read 80 gb- im using windows 98

are you sure that your bios can recognise the 80 gig
you might have to flash your bios(ONLY IF YOU KNOW HOW)

remember tio use at least fat32 when you format it.Sounds like it might have been formatted in fat16

ur hard drive must still be on fat16
so u will have reformat to fat32 the install windows
