i am wondering how good imation cd-r's are because in the paper... i saw 100 pack for 4 dollars after rebates...

so how's the quality on the cds?

Just about finished a 50 spindle of 80 minute Imations. I haven't had any problems with the 45 I have used. Although Nero says the disc capacity is only 79 minutes 30 seconds so I can't burn a full 700 meg to them.

Burned 3 50pc spindles of their 80 min cd-r. Not a bad one in the bunch. Like Darkman says, though, not quite 80 min on a disc.

I have had imations in the past. No problems with them yet. I used a CDR Identifier and it said they were made by CMC Magnetics Corp. (which aint the greatest company) and they use the short strategy (most cheaper brands do). All in all they seem ok. They work in my PC, DC, PSX, DVD and all my CD players.

wait... so u cant burn the fill 80 mins on the disks?... hmmm that could suck... not always... but sometimes...

how are the memorex 80 min disks?... diff store has those on sale for 10 dollars after rebate...

i've used these and were fine on pc but had problems getting them to work on my cd player

i used over 200 of them. they work pretty well

I been using them for a while for everything, PS1 and PS2

Only had a 2 bad ones in the batch I just used, there good though

Have no idea how they will be 10 years from now (data retention) but I've gone through 400 so far with no problems, and at less then 3 cents each can't beat the price....

Never had a problem. I could use nothing but Imation from now on, and be quite happy. Not quite as thick as Verbatim, but then nothing is.

i couldn't the rebates of imation, so i went for it. and it turn out to be ok, better than i expected. i mean for 100 pack for 3.99, there is no way i could resist.

dcm386, i have a question about the CDR Identifier. is it a software? if yes, then where can i get it?

i've been through several hundred imations w/ no problems in several different dreamcasts and various cd players. as far as the memorex, i've found that they seem to be less compatible sometimes.

Well obviously these are good brand, since retail price for these here in the states are 40-45 dollar for 100. But you can always get rebate on 'em.

Also other good brand are tdk, memorex, fuji film, verbatim.

I bought a load when I was in the US a few months back, seem to be fine. I bought mine in Wal Mart, but IIRC Circuit City had them back then with the mail-in rebate offer on them.

mail in rebate suck. YOu have to wait like 8-10 week for it. I got my 20 dollar mail in rebate from imation in like 6 month.

but they do come.
