Anyone managed to get hold of these? - SVP are selling em from tommorrow at 2.50 a throw. Just wondering if anyone had tried them already for compatibility with various DVD players, X-Box and PS2?

I dont think they gave out any of these for beta testing on another forum so we'll just have to wait and have a go. I know I'll be trying them.

My understanding is that only media manufactured by Hitachi Maxell, LTD, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Verbatim), Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., Pioneer Video Corporation, TDK Corporation, Taiyo-Yuden Co. , LTD & Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. , LTD (Panasonic) can be written at 2X, therefor one could conclude that the 2X datasafe discs are made by one of the previous manufactures... Either that or they don't write at 2x at least not without a firmware update.

I didn't say that they were full of it. Datasafe don't make CDR's, DVDR's, etc. they just label them. So what I am saying is that someone would have already tried them, under a different brand which if they are capable of 2X MUST be one of the brands I already mentioned.

Try http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/ they are advertising them at £2.49 each and are a UK based site, I think they also have a stand at Bowlers Manchester on a saturday

just tried these disc with ao4 writer

tried the back up and it worked on 3 of my standalone dvd players

samsung combined dvdvhs worked fine
pioneer dv-350 worked fine
LG one of the worst dont even play cdr but again worked fine with this disc

I've only tried a PS2 game on the new X2 Datasafe, the game struggled to load on my V3 (it takes a tanturm if it doesn't get Verbatim)
