I'm planning on buying 2 LITEON 40x writers but do not know which model and where to buy it from. Apparantly there are 2 versions of the 40x writer 1 of them being LTR-40125S. I would like to know which version I should get and where from. I will use it to clone pc games and burn music and vcd's.

Overclockers.co.uk offer the LiteOn LTR-40125S for £44.65 (ex delivery) and I am wondering wether this is a good buy or should I opt for the other version from some where else?

Thanks in advance,

I am honestly not sure. I haven't bought a writer in a while, but have looked a bit at those LITEONS. Not really sure though.

I am moving this to Consumer's Opinion.

You should get some good opinions there.

I just bought the 40x from LiteOn & its the mutts nuts to be honest.I was using a TEAC unbuffered 8x upto the middle of last week & the performance difference is immense. If you`re gonna get 2 then get 2 of these.....IMHO it`s not worth getting the 48x `cos the 40x will write at 48x if needed....can`t remember where I saw the link though.

The 40125W and 40125S are interchangable, you can flash one to the other.
