I already have a fast CD Burner, and now I'm looking for a second, slower burner that handles CD+G format. I've found some cheap 4x burners and am wondering if they really do work with GoldenHawk's CDRWin and Dart's Karaoke Studio.

Has anyone used these burners with these tools?

Sony CDRW 4X - 2X - 24X CD-RW CRX100E
Hewlett Packard 8200i 4x4x24x Internal ATAPI CD-RW Drive

----------------

By the way, no, I can't really afford to buy a fast Plextor drive. I'm really broke right now, and it's just not gonna happen.

I'm also running a 900 MHz AMD with Win2000

Sony worked fine for me, no problems at all.

Yup, the Sony should do the trick fine.

The HP 8200 will, however, I dont think that the 8200i or any HP with an 'i' at the end of the model number will.

If you look at Goldenhawks web site any HP writer with an i after it is not supposed to be cdg compatible but my HP8200i works fine with CDRWIN v3.8F, and in my opion is more reliable than the Plextor 4012 that I paid over 100 notes for

Whew!

I almost had a heart attack when I read about the 8200i possibly not working. I already have a Cendyne 20x10x40 that does NOT support CD+G, no matter what they claim.

I can't afford to waste more money on this stuff.

Fortunately, I bought this one: Sony Spressa 8x4x32 CDRW ATAPI CRX140E

Here's hoping that will let me customize my CD+G collection.

CDRWIN, which is the most widely used program to deal with mp3+g discs is not supportive of the Phillips drive according to the www.goldenhawk.com site.
