Hi

I used to use tripod to create my web pages but i wanted to create it offline so i downloaded the program called trilex. Now that they have started to charge for it i was wondering if there is any other FREE web sites that let you download a offline web page builder and then upload your pages.

Cheers

You need to use a FTP program such as WS_FTP LE (http://www.tucows.com/preview/195136.html) which should be sufficient to do what you need and is freeware. You will also need to get the geocities host address to their ftp.

IMO graphical development tools such as Microsoft FrontPage and the like are overrated. Just learn some basic HTML, i found it to be alot easier, and the editor is free (hooray notepad!!).

Anyways I don't thinkgeocities lets you upload via ftp anymore. I tried to go on my ftp account to upload some html file a while back and I think it said ftp was fore paying accounts only :( And filemanager sux.

1st Page 2000 is an excellent freeware HTML editor. You can get this at www.download.com

It caters for beginners as well as more advanced users.
