iijrzpnoyii Jul 10, 2002, 07:56 PM i want to know if its worth paying more for xbox games on apple dvd media than buying them on cheap brands. i want them to play like the way they were suppose to and last for a long time. please help. i want your opinions. All my games are on cheap media and have had no problems, yet. danman Jul 11, 2002, 01:23 PM IMHO, the expensive brands are 2x burn. If you burn @ 2x the lazer will struggle to read (fact, I've burned enough to know) You could still burn 2x certified media @ 1x but then whats the point? A good gen 3 DVD-R will play as well as a £4 apple burned at 1x so why pay £4 when £1.50 will do? I've had more apple DVD come back cos skipping (when I brought a couple of hundred) than any amount of FWS (2nd Gen) and Datasafe (3rd gen unbranded). The only possible advantage of burning2x media is that you burn in half the time.... but you pay 2 - 3 times as much and get loads more returned. Now I dont have a degree in economics but.... Dont go the other end of the spectrum though and buy Bulkpaq cos you're asking for trouble with that sh|te. If I had to put my neck on the line I'd avoid the White Label DVD-R as well. I've burned of 200 now and for the MOST part they are great. But I have had about 7% (movies) stick and lock up in the middle. To sum up then my 2 faves are FWS 2nd gen and Datasafe 3rd gen (now branded white top as the silvertop are sold out) |
