I want to get myself one of these but not sure if I should wait a while as i've heard it can take about 1hr to put a movie on disc, but not sure if they meant a original dvd to disc or a vcd to dvd disc. But what I would like to know is if anyone knows if there are any new and faster writers on the horizon and is there a addy link to the info plz if possible....

it takes 1hr to write a full DVD-R at 1x, you can get better discs that will do 2x but they are more expensive.

don't forget, it's equivilent to writing 7 CDs one after the other (size wise), so it's like having a 8.5x CD writer
