I currently have a p2 400 and i'm going to upgrade to an AMD Athlon somewhere between 1.5-1.8 ghz. I'm gonna have to change my mobo but will i need to get a new case specifically for AMD chips? or can i keep my existing case? it's a normal mini tower.
Also, roughly how much are AMD Athlon chips between 1.5-1-8 ghz? in £
What would be a good mother board to get with the Athlon? I'm looking to spend around £200 for the chip and mobo.
Thanks for your help.

Just make sure that your case will have enuff room for the new motherboard you get....plus you will need atleast a 300 watt power supply.Depending on how your case is laid out a new power supply might not fit.

Your best bet is to go ahead and get a new case with a power supply already installed. You can get a case and power supply for not much more than buying a power supply alone.

Definately Flip for a nice new case, Sell off the remnants of your P2 to finance it...
