You may not be able to play it on XP as it is based on NT and not DOS so it does not allow some DOS programs full access to all the resources they require.

Also some old games stuff up due to the majorly increased clock speed and require software to slow your PC down.

You can try restarting in MS DOS mode, but then you have the issue of not being able to use your mouse... XP CLAIMS to have reverse compatibility functions, what you do is after installing, you right click the program icon and go to properties, and the compatibility tab. Though there is not a DOS option, you may luck out and it will work while running as WIN95. Have you tried running from the DOS prompt?

As I said some DOS games require direct access to certain resources that XP will not allow due to security reasons, it may simply not be possible to run under XP. Also XP doesn't have an MS DOS mode to restart to.

You could goto http://www.bootdisk.com and download a DOS bootdisk, add mouse drivers, etc.

Check your soundcard manufactures site for SB16 emulator drivers, etc.

It will play some DOS games, but not others, I already explained why not.
