Help!!

I turned my computer on one day and discovered it did not work, I thought maybe it’s the fuse, so I changed the fuse making sure I used the correct amp and my computer blew up. There was loads of smoke coming out of the Power supply unit. So I thought I needed a new power supply,

So I bought a new power supply and fitted it yesterday but still no power, when I put the plug from the PSU in the motherboard the CPU fan moves a bit and then stops. But it just does not want to turn on!!

What’s wrong with it?? What else can I do?? I was running a 230W PSU before and that’s what I replaced it with.

I can’t think of anything else I can do!

Thanks in advanced!

Most definitely your M/b - the ATX power supply looks for a 5v return before suppling power to the board - it's not getting it!!

You may have shot the RAM and Processor!!

Well the cost of a new power supply, m/board, ram and cpu. Depending on previous spec anything from £120+

I don't think it's your mobo. If the mobo was fried, the CPU fan would not spin up at all. You are saying that it does spin up and quits. I would take the PS to someone who has a PS tester first.
