I just got done building my new computer. Motherbord is k7s5a with an athlon xp 1800+.

I beleive that it's 1.73 ghz
But when i go to C:\Program Files\DirectX\Setup.exe it tells me "AMD Athlon ...... ~1150MHz"!!!!
Shouldn't it be ~1730MHz???????????????

Yep you are dead right, well the correct speed is 1.53. A typical little mobo quirk this.

Re-boot into the BIOS and change the frquency in settings to "133" mhz and save. When you now boot up the correct processor speed will be shown. :)
