NeoCage Jul 12, 2002, 06:58 AM ok, before i get a bunch of irrelevant responses let me say a few things:
1) Yes, I already know how to do it with primoDVD. just not a big fan of the app and I have specific reasons why I'd like to use Nero instead (long story...).
2) I know I can just run it from the X-Box HD using EvolutionX, but I need to burn some discs for other people with the movies on em in the video directory.
3) I've already tried a few different UDF settings that didn't work, so don't just tell me to try UDF settings with 128, 8 + 3, blah blah blah. nero isn't set up that way. need to know what udf version to use, if i should use virtual or physical partioning, and if i should be using straight udf or a udf/iso hybrid.
4) totally not trying to sound rude or smug here! just a little tired and annoyed at nero for the lovely coasters it's dealt out so far in my attempts! any help from someone who has successfully used nero would be much appreciated :D

Cal_G_UK Jul 12, 2002, 07:07 AM Mate i have read your post and understand what your saying. Jusy wondered why you are getting coasters if you are using CD/RW?
Peace mate

NeoCage Jul 12, 2002, 07:12 AM lol. well, coasters in the sense that they are useless and have to be erased and re-burned. big waste of time, though i wouldn't use em to hold a drink ;)
thanks for poiting that out, i always like feeling a bit dumber than usual! hahaha.

iijrzpnoyii Jul 12, 2002, 08:42 AM i think its ur cdkey maybe nero has some kind of protection before i was using cdrwin and EVERY time i burn a cd it was always bad and then i changed cdkey and i workd flawless again
Mitch & Murray Jul 12, 2002, 08:58 AM i dont think you can use nero , primo didnt work with my cd burner till i got the PX Engine update then it worked fine !
You should get that.

It dont mate, it will either except the cd-key or it wont, it aint a tricky little b***ard like CDRWIN is. NERO is only a fiver anyways for an OEM version, cant go wrong there.
Like above, i know you dont want answers about Primo DVD for your own reasons but it does work perfect with the PX Engine update.
Peace mate

NeoCage Jul 12, 2002, 09:44 AM yeah, i have the px engine update and it does work fine. its just that i have 3 burners and i need to burn many discs at a time for different platforms. only xbox are isos, while my ps2, psx, pc, vcd, svcd, etc.. are all bin/cue which primo doesn't support. cdrwin and nero can run fine together so i can do all kinds of multitasking such as burning and ripping simultaneously through 6 open apps (3 open cdrwins to rip--one set to each drive, and same for nero). BUT, primo WILL NOT WORK with any other burning apps open so i have to waste time waiting for it to burn x-box discs, PLUS it only supports 2 of my burners even with the update (my pioneer dvr-104 and tdk 24x but NOT my sony crx-175/A1 24x) so i couldn't even burn 3 at a time if i wanted to. so it's really a matter of convenience in trying to get 100+ games burned a day. i didn't get 1 GB of RAM, 3 burners, and 5 80 GB HDs in my main rig to waste time burning 1 measley disc at a time ;)
and my nero key is just fine. used a nice little keygen instead of getting a crappy txt file with a blacklisted sn. it's also 5.5.8.2 so it works beautifully for everything i do--i just need to get the right settings for non-iso xbox burning :)
thanks for the responses so far. keep em coming, hopefully SOMEONE out there has used nero for this! It works fine for the downloaded isos (actually better than primo cause i get faster load time and less skipping if i burn with nero...), but i need to know how to set it manually for non iso homebrews, otherwise i may have to just use xISO to generate the isos, but that would eb such a waste of time and space ;)

Springfield_PD Jul 12, 2002, 12:03 PM You can't use nero. It doesn't allow you to burn UDF in bridge mode. Try recordnow max. There is a 30 day trial available. It is basically the same a prassi though, veritas bought it from them. I stuggled with this one for like 4 hours before I fugured it out.
toofan Jul 12, 2002, 05:43 PM where do I get px engine?
