SStyle Jul 12, 2002, 03:35 PM ok tryed to burn simsvacation with clone cd, i looked with cloney for what kind of protection it had. cloney said safedisk 2.(remember this game is on a cdr with a crack in one of the dirs, so i guess it was never duplicated 1:1 with clone cd) so i downloaded the newest version of clone cd looked in this forum for the settings, set all things right burned it, everything went right, but when i try to install this game it "freezes" on 95 procent. I'm trying to burn this game with a yamaha 2100 16x10x40( i know it doesn't support aws, but 1: i don't need aws for safedisk 2. and 2:its allready a copy wich i need a crack for so no need to copy the protection with it i guess). i was verry frustrated, downloade clonecd 4 profiles from anotherboard(settings wichclonecd will autochoose when you select wich copyprotection to burn), selected safedisk 2 from the list in clone cd 4.**** burned it with 8 speed, still it hangs on 95 procent( % ) wassup with this, am i doeing something wrong?
i would really apreciate it if someone knows what going on or what i'm doing wrong.
question 2. if i want to copy a disk the old way in clone cd 4.**** what pictogram do i have to click so that i can enter all off the settings myself(if i choose burn cd i can only choose witch protection i want to copy( the profiles i downloaded) not the options itself)
celtic_druid Jul 12, 2002, 04:03 PM If there is a crack on the disc then it is no longer protected with SafeDisc2, well it is, but it ain't going to pass without using the crack. Don't select anything when reading or writing it and check the log to make sure that there are no errors..
To alter the settings in Clone CD 4 right click on one of the profiles and edit it. There are also some settings found by right clicking on the drive icon before you get to the profiles.
SStyle Jul 12, 2002, 05:29 PM Tnxx for the awnser m8, i'll give it a go. but one more thing, no need to start a new thread for this. when i try to read this cd with cdrwin it starts and then emediately give a reading error, is this cos the program can't handel safedisk2 protection? i mean when i download iso's from the net, the're mostly in *.cue *.bin format(i know most hacker groups released them) but surely there must be an(good or great no easy coaster creator ;) ) program besides clonecd that lets me copy the cd in such a way that i just have to run a crack on the exe when i installed the game(no cd crack) without going trough all of the trouble if my writer is capable or witch settings to use.
tnxx again druid
celtic_druid Jul 13, 2002, 02:54 AM If there is a crack on the CD, then any program should be able to read it. It is only creating a copy that doesn't need a crack when you have to worry if you writer is capable and which settings to use.
zedy Jul 13, 2002, 03:10 AM No, it gives an error because the disc is damaged.
celtic_druid Jul 13, 2002, 05:12 AM Well, discs being damaged aside.. When you do a 1:1 copy of a SD2 game there are errors for the first 2% or so of the CD. When you don't do a 1:1 copy there should be no errors.
If files are unreadable then that would explain while your install doesn't work. If you are using settings designded for SD2 then you are more likely to pickup unwanted errors as the settings are designed for skipping errors.
Supleh2 Jul 13, 2002, 11:45 AM Alright, I've had a problem like this before but with Return to castle wolfenstein. Once you try burning it a second time, if it still freezes at a certain percent while installing, that's ok. I know this sounds crazy but it works. Say your second copy freezes at 11%, that's it's bad point, but your other one gets allll the way to 95%. When the better CD gets to 95% and freezes, eject the cd, and insert the 2nd 11% cd. From there, it should install fine. Good luck.
