JR2K Jul 13, 2002, 05:16 AM I think my laser desperately needs a clean and I have read a tutorial on how to clean the laser with alchohol by opening the console, etc. But I have come across a "Blaze Laser Lens Cleaner" will this do the job and has anyone used one? Thanks
ps2wiz Jul 13, 2002, 09:42 AM Just try a normal cd lens cleaner see if that helps if it doesn't then open up your ps2 and clean the laser.
swellpower Jul 13, 2002, 10:23 AM just make sure that it is pure clear alchohol otherwise you will dye the lens dont use meths or you can just dab the bud in some clean water make sure it is only damp then use the other end to dry the lens
handyguy Jul 13, 2002, 10:39 AM We don't need another topic on this, search the board or read the faqs, thanks.
hanleychan Sep 04, 2002, 12:23 AM Blaze laser cleaner works. Theres 2 brushes on the disc that cleans the lens. My games don't skip as much anymore now
handyguy Sep 04, 2002, 11:39 AM Brushes are only for dust, you need a wet cleaner for oil-fingerprints.
bleepster Sep 04, 2002, 12:56 PM HOW CAN YOU GET FINGER PRINTS ON A LASER???????????????
fatboyfsx Sep 04, 2002, 04:12 PM its called touching a cd with your fingers, duh! then that cd spins gets grease on it, hence the reason for needing to use alchohal. does anyone know about the game doctor, does that work well for making stupid *** gamesharks work better? mine is not too good condition, so i think i may get a gamedoctor, later, fatboy
handyguy Sep 04, 2002, 05:58 PM It should work well. There are other methods, one of them I saw at a music store where I work, its a paste your rub on the cd. I haven't tried it.
fatboyfsx Sep 04, 2002, 06:05 PM yea, it looks like it would do the trick, i heard that the paste things aren't as effective, and are harder to use, but before the gamedoctor those were probably the best things. thanks handyguy! later, fatboy
