Hey guys,
I'm just not sure what to do right now. I've got a backup of FFX DVD on DVD-R and tried to boot it with DVDX on my Origa console.
Guess what, bad luck.
The screen stays black after the DVDX region select screen. I'm trying to track the problem down but maybe someone could just tell me what might be wrong. Booting CDR works flawlessly.
Ideas appreciated. :)
Thx

I have the same chip as you. To boot dvdr i use the same procedure as I do with cdr. Have u tried another dvdr? The one you have can be a bad burn.

well, I burned the disc 3 time.
1. PrimoDVD at 1x
2. Nero 5.5.9.0 at 1x
3. PrimoDVD at 2x
It's always the same problem. I tried to burn a dvd-rw aswell
but the ps2 wouldn't read it, it only made a clicking noise.
btw, I've got a PAL PS2 v3 like you.
Thanks for replying!

I am having a similar problem with my origa chip. When I first got my PS2 chipped with an origa (so I could play dvdr since I couldn't with my self installed sbox usb chip) DVDR's worked fine. Now I am having alot of trouble playing DVDR. I use a gameshark to boot my games. When I use CDR everything works fine, when I use DVDR however, I hear a strange squeaky noise and the game never gets by the gameshark loading screen. Every once and a while I don't get the squeaky noise and then the DVDR works fine. I am not sure what the problem is but if anyone else is having this problem and has a solution I would like to hear about it.
