I looked at the NIC card I have in my computer, but doens't have any company at all on it. The card was installed when I put my cable modem in so they just put some unknown card in. And windows xp cannot find a driver for it. Any generic ones I can get just to get the internet running again on XP?

probably not, generics for NIC's are not very good.

What I would do is to look at the card and write down all numbers and codes off it and search for them on google or driverguide.com
