Is it possible to hook-up a television to my computer, so I can watch dvds on the tv rather than the computer? It's really not all that comfortable sitting at this desk to watch a 3-hour movie.

YEs, you need a TV-out card. Many good video cards also have TV-out or you can get a dedicated video capture/ TV out card if you want to keep your existing video card.

Just be sure to get a card that has connectors matching your TV.

You could always get the hollywood magic decoder card it also has a remote control and the picture quality is far superior to a video card TV out also because its a hardware decoder it is not CPU hungry.

if you have a decent video card, it probably already has tv out.
if not, just get a cheap pci card that has a tv out slot.

but what exactly are you trying to do? are you going to move your entire pc so you don't have to sit at a desk?
