In my case you will need a modchip to run the flash program which was burned on a cdrw. Once your xbox is flashed you will no longer need a modchip.

I had an enigmah mod final and flashed to the Evolution bios v 2.2.

Of course in order to do that you have to disable your modchip by adding On and Off Switches. Onced you flashed to the Evo bios you will no longer need a modchip. I've removed my modchip and the system will play all orginals and backups just fine.

Evo bios 2.2 has all the features as an Enigmah Final/ Xtender v 1.1
The Evo bios allows you to upgrade and add a bigger size hardrive.
Enigmah/Xtender mods don't have this feature.

The correct answer would be that you need the modchip to boot up the flash program, once you have succesfully flashed the bios the modchip is no longer required.

Okay Okay, I was told that you can flash the chip in your computer itself :|

It's like, you download the flash utility, make bios load into cache, and when in dos, remove your bios on the computer motherboard, put in blank chip, use the flash utility to flash the chip. Then once done, remove the chip and plug into XBox, now will that be the same too???

If I do this way, do I still need a mod chip????
