I have a V1 Ps2 NTSC. Which Mod chip should i have installed and where is a reputable place to buy from. I am tired of the knife swap, even though it has lasted for over a year now. And is it true that i have to have a Pal for the messiah?

well you don't need a PAL system for messiah, but you still need a v4 machine for it. i would reccomend the origa/nova since you already have a gameshark. it is the best swap based mod. www.lik-sang.com has a great selection and great prices.

since you ahve a V1 that will die soon i suggest to buy a used ps2 on ebay for 30-40 bucks and buy the EMZ no soldier for $60; so you have a reliable system with a small amount of money ;) othe4rwise buy a messiah chip if you are proficient with soldiering ^_^ but the difference are not so big to justify the soldiering chip expenses plus the risks and the cost of the chip itself.

Forget about hot swaps and slide cards since i throwed away my ps2 after repair it 3 times (once for the tray, once for the dvd rom and the ast was for teh lens, i bought a new one on a liquidation sale for $99 ) and i promised to myself to not use any other "mechanical" device on the ps2 but only modchips :D
