I have a V4 PS2 and the no solder modchip looks like the best way for me because I have no soldering knowledge. Is there any downsides to getting the no solder chip? Can it play all the different kinds of backups (DVD rip, DVDR, CDR, etc)? Any help is greatly appreciated.

i think you can't play games over 650mb. correct me if i am wrong.

Thats correct to fix this you need to install a neokey which involves two solder points.
