Since I've had my Telewest modem put in I havent turned it off once yet, so the modem lights are constantly on, I wanted to know if this was right or should I turn it off at the mains?

I can't see any reason that you can't turn the modem off if the computer is not running..(If you turn it off while the computer is runnning you just won't be able to dial up until you turn it on)..but I would turn it back on prior to starting up computer

I only ment turning the modem off when the computer is shut down.
My main concern is that the modem will overheat, is that possible?

I turn mine off from the standby button when I turn off the PC & never had a problem. I don't like the idea of the power being left on when Im in bed Just to be on the safe side safety wise.
