Ok, this is really weird, I hooked up my cd player with the computer through line-in and when i record the music from the cd player and play it back on the comp it always plays in Mono! This is strange cause in the record settings of the various programs I've used (Cooledit, Soundforge) it always says Stereo 16-bit 44khz, so why doesn't it record it like that? I can hear the music from my cd player through line-in on my comp in Stereo fine if i just play it back normally, but It's when I try and record it as a wav, it always records it as mono even though it says it will record it in stereo. Any ideas why this happens? :(

Full sound acceleration is enabled in Windows XP for best performace my sound card is a Sound Blaster PCI 64.

Very odd! Just a wild guess. Are you sure you are closing all other running programs whilst burning?

It's got nothing to do with mono or stereo sound.

Why didn't you use the CDROM to digitally rip the tracks to WAVs on HD instead of doing analog recording thru line-in? This will give you much better files.
