I'm thinking about buying a mod chip and installing it in my Xbox, but I was thinking, will it effect it in the long run? I still want to be able to play all originals and DVDs and stuff, and I remember on my DC, after I played backups for quite a while, the laser didn't work as well, and it wouldn't play originals sometimes. Will this happen to my Xbox?

its kind of impossible to tell since in order to test this you need to use a mod for a long time. i dont see how it could hurt, just dont cheap out with cheap dvds, buuy the good ones
