JBNinja99 Jul 22, 2002, 04:34 PM i was having hella trouble with gameselector. i thought i'd post this for people who were having trouble like i was. first what u do is create a new folder on your hard drive, i.e multi-xbox. next, extract your isos into the multi-xbox folder. i used XISOv073. i was having trouble with xisotool, and xiso seems to run better. it's in spanish, but not hard to figure out. after extracting each iso to the multi-xbox folder, go in and rename the default.xbe file to defaula.xbe. do this accordingly; for the next iso change it's default.xbe file to defaulb.xbe. once you have all your iso's extracted in your multi-xbox folder, go to the game selector files. open the root directory. next edit the select.xml file. (right click, hit edit) this is where you name you default.xbe files in accordance to the games. if your first extracted iso is halo, in the select.xml file change the first NOT USED to halo. do not mess with the defaula.xbe, defaulb.xbe ect. files. change the NOT USED slots in accordance to what your games are. once you are done with this, save the select.xml file and close it. next go to your multi-xbox folder where all your extracted isos are. highlight all the files. drag them into the root directory. you are done with that part. next u are ready for burning. i burned with primo dvd. open the root directory where all your files are. highlight them all and drag them into the burning slot for files. make sure you change your burning options to 128 UDF 8+3 bridge, DAO. you are done. let me know if this helps. i know i had a hella lot of trouble with game selector.

sanai79 Jul 23, 2002, 04:02 AM hmmmm.... wouldn't it be just easier to use EvoX. Just put the games in their own directory. Then in the menu.ini put
AutoAddItem "d:\"
d is the dvd drive and the menu should just automatically add the games.

If you goto the Tools->options menu you can change it to English - even easier to understand then ;)
wilt Jul 23, 2002, 12:24 PM Thx m8 it works a treat.....
JBNinja99 Jul 23, 2002, 06:04 PM i tried to change xiso in options from spanish to english. it said 'restart program for options to take effect.' i restarted the program and the options didn't take effect. not a big deal, i already know how to use the program. and as far as evoX goes...yeah i have no idea how to use that. i just posted this tutorial for game selector because i myself was having a hard time using it. after i figured out how i thought i'd post it.
handyguy Jul 23, 2002, 07:25 PM When one finds a solution, one should post in one of the game selector topics, this way
everyone else looking for a solution can have it.

I bet I know what you did. When you downloaded xISO, did you only download the EXE file? If so, the correct download is a zip and contains three files, one of which is called xiso.enu which is the english language file.
If you want it, LMK and I will mail it to you - its only small. Then drop it in the xISO dir and you should be in english :)
freakit Aug 05, 2002, 09:01 PM i made a dvdr with 4 games on it. when i load the dvdr it says
game 1 press A
game 2 press B
and so on.
is there a way to get the menu to say the game name?
i did not use your guide to make the dvdr. will i get the game name to show up using your instructions?
JBNinja99 Aug 06, 2002, 05:41 AM well freakit...if you use game selector to burn the files you can get the names of the games to show up. you rename the default.xbe files for the games to defaula.xbe, defaulb.xbe, ect. these renamed files correspond to the names of the games. for instance, if your first game is morrowind, you rename the morrowind default.xbe file to defaula.xbe. then in the game selector select.xml file, put morrowind in the first 'not used' slot. you will see that in the select.xml file, the defaula.xbe, defaulb.xbe files ect. correspond to the top 'not used' slots. try this, and just follow all that other stuff i posted initially.

Mystical_2K Aug 06, 2002, 01:43 PM you can get it to say the names in a way - use a hex editor and change the names from "Game 1" to say "Crazy3" or "Shrek " - you get the idea
Arsenal02Champs Aug 16, 2002, 04:59 AM Yeah but what file do I haveto hex edit? I do not have a select.xml file at all
JBNinja99 Aug 16, 2002, 10:26 AM you don't have a select.xml file?? are you using game selector? the name of the game selector file i believe is nCs_XLauncher_07b.zip. if you don't have the correct version of game selector or believe the one you have to be bad, give me your email and i'll send you the version i have. there are no files to hex edit, just editing in the select.xml file.
